Work Hard, Party Harder – A Developer’s Life!
Hello, everyone!
It’s time for another update, and this time, I want to talk about my current work life. I recently joined a project where I’m developing something that will soon be used by the public. No pressure, right? My job involves coding, thinking logically, understanding the product’s functionality, and basically pretending to know everything while secretly Googling half of it (just kidding… or am I?).
But the best part of this job? The people!
The Dream Team
I work with an amazing bunch — my lead and fellow developers are just like me: knowledge-hungry, hardworking, and constantly striving to make things better and learn something new. It’s refreshing to be surrounded by people who share the same mindset.
I belong to Squad 1 (yes, we sound like an elite special forces team, and we like to believe we are). My squad lead is basically me — but with a lead title and an added mission: to make our squad the best-performing one. No pressure, boss, we got this!
Then there’s my manager, who is also my Scrum Master. What I appreciate about him is that he knows every resource and their capabilities. The best part? He assigns me a task and doesn’t micromanage. No constant pings, no unnecessary follow-ups — he trusts me to get the job done. And if there’s a delay, he respects the reason behind it. That’s rare, and I truly appreciate it.
Mentoring the Juniors
I also have a couple of junior developers I help out from time to time. Teaching them is fun because, let’s be honest, explaining something makes you realize how much (or how little) you actually know! What’s even better? They’ve told me that watching me work inspires them, and they want to think and solve problems like I do. That’s a huge compliment, and honestly, it keeps me motivated.
Work Hard, Party Harder
Of course, work isn’t just about coding and deadlines. I have teammates who make sure we unwind after all the hard work. Whether it’s grabbing drinks, partying, or just chilling, we know how to balance work and fun. That’s what makes this project even more enjoyable!
The Architect – The Ultimate Role Model
Now, let’s talk about the main person in this project — our Architect. If I had to describe him in one phrase, it would be “Knowledge is power.” He is hands down the most knowledgeable person I’ve ever met. Everyone respects him, and honestly, if someone asks me where I see myself in 5 or 10 years, my answer would be: “I want to have the knowledge of my Architect.” The way he understands and designs systems is just incredible. I hope to reach that level someday.
Final Thoughts
This project is shaping up to be an amazing journey, not just because of the work but because of the people I work with. When you’re surrounded by like-minded individuals, work doesn’t feel like a burden—it becomes a challenge you actually enjoy.
So, here’s to learning, growing, working hard, and, of course, partying harder!
